Disneyland's Haunted Mansion is about to become a chillingly romantic wedding venue, and it's causing quite a stir! 'Til Death Do Us Part
Imagine walking down the aisle in a place where the Grim Grinning Ghosts reside. Starting this July, couples can exchange vows in the eerie yet enchanting courtyard of Disneyland's iconic Haunted Mansion. But here's the catch: it comes with a spooky price tag of $25,000 to $40,000.
Korri McFann, marketing director for Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings and Honeymoons, believes this unique offering aligns with modern couples' desire for destination weddings that reflect their personalities. The Haunted Mansion, a long-time fan favorite, promises to deliver an unforgettable experience.
However, there's a twist in this tale. The weddings come with some eerie restrictions. With a limited guest list of 25, the ceremony must take place before the park opens, potentially as early as 8 a.m. on some days. The lighting is minimal, but Disney provides an officiant, transportation, and basic decor.
And this is where it gets controversial—Disney entertainment is required, but the specifics and additional costs are unclear. The mansion, which recently underwent a year-long renovation, now features an upgraded garden and a new greenhouse for guests. Its signature tortured bride character has been enhanced with a projector, adding to the haunting ambiance.
This opportunity is part of Disney's Fair Tale Weddings and Honeymoons 35th-anniversary celebration, which includes surprise announcements throughout February. Previously, Disney weddings were held at various locations, including the Grand Californian Hotel and Sleeping Beauty's Castle, with prices starting at $100,000.
For those daring enough to say 'I do' in the Haunted Mansion, more information is available on Disneyweddings.com. A boutique tour is also an option, with an upcoming event in Rancho Cucamonga on March 7.
