Bold headline: Storage limits and paid perks could shape how you play Pokemon Champions — and it’s worth planning now. But here’s where it gets controversial: the free plan may feel limiting to casual players, while the paid options promise more freedom and faster progress.
Pokemon Champions, first announced last year, centers on battles with your favorite pocket monsters. The game will use familiar mechanics like Pokemon types, Abilities, and moves, enabling a wide range of strategies for both new Trainers and seasoned veterans.
If you’re considering jumping in, note that the free tier lets you store up to 30 Pokemon. A Starter Pack will raise the storage cap to 80, though the price isn’t disclosed yet. In addition, a subscription is planned to expand storage further, with pricing to be announced.
Beyond storage enhancements, the subscription will also increase how many teams you can run, grant access to premium missions, and unlock additional battle songs. There will be a premium Battle Pass too, which speeds up access to items like Mega Stones and certain Pokemon, reducing the need for grinding.
Release details place Pokemon Champions on Nintendo Switch in April, with a mobile version following later in the year. You can glimpse the fresh look at the game here: https://nintendoeverything.com/pokemon-champions-launches-in-april/.
